About Me

I am a working mother of three children. I created this blog to share my yarn and yarn store reviews, loom knitting tips, my knitted creations, and any other crafts I pick up. I garden, do yoga, paint, and cook a lot from scratch. These are all various "crafts" that I love, that I hope you enjoy reading about!

I learned the basics of crochet when I was in 7th grade from my Language Arts teacher. My grandpa came across a bunch of odds and ends for knitting crafts all of the time, and gave them to me. One item I picked up was a book on various crafts; it had everything including quilting, knitting, and sewing. I learned the basics of knitting from that book.

I have always wanted to love knitting. I love the way the two needles looked wiggling as you work, and I love the beautiful items you can create. I do not love the pain I get while holding the needles after a time though. Then one day, during my second pregnancy, I discovered the loom knitting section at Hobby Lobby while I was stationed in Texas! I couldn't get enough of it! I can loom knit for hours with no pain in my hands! The items I have been able to create while loom knitting have amazed even me!

Gardening became a thing for me during my first pregnancy. I have taken a serious interest in herbal healing, and what herbs in various forms (tinctures, teas, salves, syrups, etc) can do for the body. I love having a kitchen vegetable garden as well, and once we have a house with a yard (currently in a town home with a strip of grass), I am planning on working up to a sustenance garden, with a small orchard, chickens, goats, and a cow! Big dreams, I know, but that is what dreams are for!

I became interested in "from scratch cooking" when I was bodybuilding in 2012 & 2013. I am an advocate of "clean eating", and I strive to make my meals, if not healthy, then at least wholesome. I try to eliminate artificial ingredients as best as I can, to produce recipes that I am proud to put on my table! I am all about time saving though, so a lot of recipes will feature my Instant Pot Pressure Cooker! If you haven't looked at pressure cooking before, you are missing out!

So if you have read this whole thing, and you are interested in these things too, please subscribe so you are updated about my new posts. I would love to read and respond to your comments, so speak (write!) your mind!
